Parents Power is a non-profit organisation established in 2013 under the umbrella of Teng Hoi to empower parents by creating flexible jobs and family-friendly workplaces. We operate in collaboration with businesses such as Hermon Industries Limited and Fruit Tree Investment Strategy Limited to ensure financial sustainability while promoting the Corporate Social Responsibility business model. Parents Power has expanded our mission by developing programs for youth and children to build a community that values equal access to opportunities.
We believe Parents Power is at the forefront of a burgeoning movement that advocates for the genuine choice for parents whether to work or stay at home. We understand the complexities of parenthood and it is our goal to increase awareness for the common negotiations that parents face as they engage in parenting and paid work. Aiming to remove the stigma surrounding both working and non-working parents, we also wish to expand the social and political support currently available for parents through our work at Parents Power. For example, our job creation program, which includes flexible work hours and in-office childcare, encourages other businesses to adopt similar practices.
Our vision is to be one of the main proponents behind the rise of flexible work and fully-paid leave for mothers and fathers, improvement of childcare programs, and legislation to facilitate transitions in and out of the workforce. We hope that governments and corporations can understand the importance of the implementation of family-friendly workplace policies and benefits for the well-being of parents and the future of our generation.
Parents Power is a supportive community devoted not only to create greater possibilities for parents, but also to promote equality in parenthood and build functioning systems to help parents better manage their dual roles in the long term.
