Locating fish blasting

A new paper published by the members of Teng Hoi and Stop Fish Bombing (SFB!) aims to demonstrate how underwater fish blasts can be readily detected using an adaptation of an existing gunshot location technology and describe the scalability of this detection system. Blast fishing, or fish bombing, is a destructive and illegal fishing method where fishermen set off explosives underwater to stun fish, allowing for easy harvesting. This not only damages reefs but also affect biodiversity in the area.
